78 miles today

Finally very little headwind and rain. Got an early start, and even had time to have a shorter headset installed in Florence. Got the chain and cassette cleaned too -- that feels nice.

Will try to stop in coos bay at a Starbucks to post some pics.

i might hang here for a 2 nights as i'm tired and could use the rest. they have some books for me to entertain myself with plus a yacht club (on the canal)!!

just enough shoulder and too fast of traffic. plus it was plenty steep

so i hit a nice, healthy sqall (not bad with my fine j&g rainwear, however), and decided to stop and deal with camping here since i was tired and hungry (again). turns out the camp hostess was an angel -- she put me up in the picnic area under a nice roof. i then had the luxury of being dry and out of the rain while i enjoyed hearing and watching the rain.

i ate double rations tonight as the cold takes it out of me. had some jerky i got from a guy at a farmer's market in yakima. the best ever! i'll try to get a picture of his info for those interested...
