Sisters again then push to Bend

Met up with Kent and Cece the second day in Sisters. They were on their way to the coast. Then it was a push for Bend.

On the way I passed another bike tourist who'd lost his bottle and cage. He'd done the Sierra Cascades route from Bend to Hood River and back and said his tendon was bugging him. He passed me after I stopped for the first picture of this post. After that I could not catch him even though the race was on. Not bad for a guy who'd gone lame, but really it's just me not being in great shape. Still the race made the hours and miles slip by which was good cuz there wasn't much shoulder and a lot of traffic.

When I headed South towards Al and Jane's, the wind picked up drastically on my nose. By the time I made the 10 or so miles to their house, I was beat.

They being the perfect hosts allowed me to shower first then enjoy a beer and pizza chunks. Not only are they the nicest people one could hope to meet, but Al is quite the artist with wood -- see the door. Jane is quite the seamstress but sadly we didn't give enough attention to that, although I noticed a beautiful quilt on the wall that I presume she made.

Not only was I blessed with some new excellent friends we also got one of those laaaaaa kind of sunsets. I guess they get them all the time. Even so, I was impressed.
